NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd today signed an MoU with Nagar Nigam Haldwani Kathgodam for development of Municipal Solid Waste to Green Coal Plant.

The MSW to charcoal facility will process 500 TPD of municipal waste in a plant to be set up at Gaula Rokhad, Haldwani with an estimated cost of Rs. 230 Cr. The project will support Swacch Bharat Mission and help reduce CO2 emissions by approx. 1.5 lakh tonnes annually. The technology for the plant is expected to be indigenously developed supporting Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

The MoU was exchanged between Mayor, Haldwani-Kathgodam and CEO (NVVN) in the presence of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
